Description
Intended for electric guitar players, the Boss Waza Amp Head is a four-channel, 150W amplifier head with three speaker outputs, two analog line outputs, a headphone output, and a USB port for recording sound from the amp straight to your computer. The amplifier utilizes a solid-state design, though it can be voiced to give you the sound of a tube amplifier at loud or quiet volumes, thanks to a Power Control switch and its Amplifier knob. This knob boasts three selection points: Internal, A, and B. Internal provides the sound of a modeled EL34 tube amplifier, while A and B provide access to two installable tone capsules that significantly change the tone of the amplifier. By default, the amp ships with one tone capsule which aims to give you the famed Waza Brown Sound, though it can be swapped up for other options.
Four channels are provided for clean, crunch, and two lead tones; all channels are switchable via the included foot controller. You’ll find controls for gain, channel volume, a three-knob tone stack, presence, and reverb. The Waza Amp Head offers two effects loops, both of which are switchable between parallel and series. This amplifier is compatible with the matching Waza Amp Cabinet412 and Cabinet212, both available separately. To change the tone of these cabinets, a three-position Cabinet Resonance switch is provided. Similarly, to sculpt the tone of the included line outputs, you'll find a control labeled "Line Out Air Feel."
MIDI control is offered via a 5-pin DIN input, while a bevy of analog connections can be seen on the rear panel, including three speaker outputs, a headphones output, two line outputs, two effects loop, a foot controller input, and a USB port. The Waza Amp Head can be unscrewed from its case to be mounted in a standard 19” rack. When mounted, the amp will take up 3 RU.
